Who Are We?
MediaCrime is made up of four musicians with clear views about the fucked up nature of greedy capitalist bastards; and love to convey this through high energy songs with stabbing honesty & intensity. All are veterans of the New York Metro original/underground music scene. Eddie Havoc, on vocals and guitar, blends both performing and song writing styles by mixing rock, punk, folk influences - served over ice with a twist. John Mazza, on drums and vocals, has been playing in original bands since he began. A devote of the seminal alternative/college radio sound, he goes beyond being merely a "drummer" and is involved in arrangiements & artwork. From the UK; Derek Luce, on guitar and vocals, joined MediaCrime in 2008, injecting a host of great songs, weird chords along with a smidge of PR effort (not to mention being Mr Freakin Fixit). Pete Manolakis joined the band Jan 2009. Pete brings additional energy, drugs (aspirin) and drunkeness to Mediacrime. Playing for the last 200+ years on both guitar and bass, Pete is focused on the bass guitar. His passion is A.D.D., the jam scene, ability to shout, improvise and play in the pocket, further enhancing Mediacrime's original sound.
